Northburn 100 mile was my first 'breakout' race, finishing fourth amongst a world class field, and logging the 11th fastest time since the race begun in 2012. Read my race report here.
My second attempt at running for 24hrs, I was determined to keep moving the entire race and clock a distance in the 200's. I also went into the race with a dream to qualify for the world champs for 24hr running the following year. Read my race report here.
After a break from training and missing a key race in November 2016 due to pneumonia, I was looking for a big start to 2017 to boost my confidence. I decided to set the bar high with this race, making my target of 7hrs 45mins public in the running community. It was an ambitious target as that would represent a course record, not to mention a state record for the distance. I finished the race in first place, with a time of 7hrs 35mins 56sec.
Best on Ground - LGSHA
Throughout the 2016 Hockey season, I travelled to Mt Barker (100km south), to play men's hockey for the Mt Barker Hockey Club. Our team made the Grand Final of the Lower Great Southern Hockey Association, which we won, and I was honoured to be voted best on ground for the game.
Kojonup Sports Person of the Year - 2016
I am honoured to be named the Kojonup Senior Sports Star of the year for 2016, supported by the Kojonup Lions Club. This was present in recognition of my work in the local Hockey and Squash Clubs, success in both sports, along with my running successes for the year.
