The importance of meaningful work

How many of us go to a job just to pass the day and put a roof over our heads? That’s a serious question because I sometimes worry that it’s a considerable number.

Any more than 1 is an issue.

We need work with the appropriate level of complexity to engage and stimulate us. Without it, not only are we less happy, but we are also dumber.

We need work that gives us meaning in the world. Work that solves problems, that makes people’s lives better, not just our bank accounts.

As a society, we should be embracing the evolution of work. Mundane tasks being automated should be championed, as that will make us smarter.

As an individual, we should strive for meaningful work enriching ourselves and our culture. Are you engaged in meaningful work?
