Time is not money

I’m as prone as anyone of emphasizing the value of time. But where many of us go wrong is we directly relate the two by saying ‘time is money’. It’s kind of true, but mostly misses the mark.

Productivity is money. Afterall, you don’t actually get paid for your time, you get paid for your production or output.

You wouldn’t pay someone to sit at a desk for a day, but you’d happily pay someone to create brilliant work that you can sell at a profit.

Value your own time in units of production, rather than time.

Now, how much did you work today?
