Success doesn’t just happen

One of my favourite lines from Malcolm Gladwell’s writing. “Success doesn’t just happen”.

We know that it takes more than just hard work too. There’s a certain amount of luck that goes towards any success.

But we can create that luck. We can position ourselves in such a way that leaves us more susceptible to being presented with opportunities.

I view education this way. It’s not actually making you more successful right now. It’s setting you up for when opportunities pass you by, you’re able to jump at them.

Being mindful of our successes takes courage to uncover how we have got to where we are. Viewing the world this way, we realise that there is no such thing as a self-made person, so don’t strive to try to be one.
